When does Warzone leave PS4 and Xbox One? November 6 Season 1 cutoff, explained
Activision’s May 28 platform update: Warzone on last-gen “will no longer be playable starting with Season 1.” Season 1 is midnight ET November 6. The separate Warzone roadmap blog is not on the site yet.

Call of Duty Staff dated the platform update May 28, on the Modern Warfare 4 announcement post. The line is specific: “Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One will no longer be playable starting with Season 1.” Season 1’s clock is on the October 28 intel blog: live at 0000 (midnight) ET on November 6, which is 2100 PT on November 5, across all platforms. November 6 is a Friday. That instant is Thursday night Pacific / the first minute of Friday Eastern. Existing last-gen installs were allowed to keep playing until that rollover. New downloads on those platforms already stopped June 4.
The cutoff in Eastern Time
| What Activision printed | When |
|---|---|
| New Warzone downloads stop on PS4 and Xbox One | June 4, 2026 (already passed) |
| Last-gen in-game store removed | June 25, 2026 (already passed) |
| Existing last-gen players can keep playing | Until Season 1 launches |
| Season 1 / last-gen unplayable | November 6, 12:00 a.m. ET (November 5, 9:00 p.m. PT) |
The last full calendar day on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is Thursday, November 5. Friday at 12:00 a.m. ET is the moment Activision dated as Season 1. No separate last-gen downtime hour is printed on either blog. If a queue, a download, or a login screen runs past that instant, that is a live-service mess, not a second official clock.
What the May post actually said
As part of this transition, Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One will no longer be playable starting with Season 1. Beginning June 4, the game will no longer be available for new downloads on those platforms, though existing players can continue playing until Season 1 launches.— Call of Duty Staff, May 28, 2026
The same paragraph says Call of Duty Points bundle purchases would no longer be available on those platforms, and that on June 25 the last-gen in-game store would come out. Players could still progress free Battle Pass tiers, “including unlocking new weapons in remaining Black Ops 7 seasons.” Those store and download steps already happened. The playable-until-Season-1 line is the one that lands this week. Modern Warfare 4 itself “will not be available on PlayStation 4 or XBOX One,” per that same May post. Last-gen Warzone is the leftover.
The November 2 Warzone post is not up
The October 28 Season 1 blog told readers to watch the Call of Duty blog “this Monday, November 2, for a separate post and Roadmap fully covering everything coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 1.” That post names Hajin and Zodiac as new maps, plus Verdansk and Rebirth Island returning, and MW4 integrating with the free-to-play game. @CallofDuty’s November 1 post used Hajin Conflict key art and said “Trailer and Roadmap tomorrow.” As of this check, that dedicated Warzone Season 1 blog is not on callofduty.com/blog. This page is not filling in points of interest, playlists, or a trailer rundown from a post that is not there. If it lands later today, that file — not this cutoff explainer — is the maps brief.
