SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have posted the first story trailer for Stranger Than Heaven. The title card is “Act 1: Kokura.” RCG News dated the drop October 18. Gematsu and RGG’s own news page treat it as the first in a set of era trailers, not a one-off launch spot. This desk is working from those written posts, not from a shot-by-shot watch of the video.

What the written copy says

RGG’s English news post says the series of videos will follow Makoto Daito “across five eras and cities between 1915 and 1965.” The Kokura entry is the first. Official copy: Daito flees persecution in the United States, sneaks onto the ship of merchant Orpheus to reach Japan, meets fellow stowaway Yu Shinjo, and hits “the harsh reality that awaits them in Kokura, Fukuoka,” which is what pushes him toward becoming a showman. Gematsu’s trailer description is the same setup in one sentence: the events that lead Daito onto Orpheus’ ship, and the realities waiting in the first city he reaches.

The studio’s story blurb on that same page puts him in “the booming steel town of Kokura, Fukuoka,” still facing the discrimination he left in America, until people there take him in. Character listings on the page name Yu Shirota as Daito, Dean Fujioka as Yu Shinjo, and Snoop Dogg as Orpheus. Those are credits on the official page, not a recap of footage.

January 15, 2027

Gematsu, RCG News, and Xbox’s product page all date the launch January 15, 2027. Platforms in those writeups: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Xbox’s page prints “Play day one with Game Pass” and lists Xbox Play Anywhere between Series consoles and Xbox on PC. Gematsu only says it will also be available via Game Pass, without the “day one” phrase. The first-party Xbox page is the one that says day one.
