Who it’s for

  • Fit-first buyers: Bose lists eartips S/M/L plus stability bands 1/2/3 (nine combinations).
  • People who want Bose’s CustomTune / Immersive Audio and a wireless charging case (new vs many older Bose cases).
  • iPhone users who will not miss LDAC.

Who should skip

  • Anyone who needs long single-charge life: Bose lists up to 6 hours Quiet/Aware, 4 hours with Immersive Audio.
  • Swimmers — IPX4 only, same splash class as Sony.

Sourced facts

  • Bluetooth 5.3; IPX4; USB-C plus wireless charging case; case holds up to three full charges (Bose listing copy).
  • What Hi-Fi launch context: they scored both this and XM5 five stars and still preferred Sony on sound.

Verdict

Worth it if comfort, fins, and Bose ANC reputation are why you’re spending flagship money. Not the battery or codec champ. We did not independently measure ANC; “world-class” is Bose’s claim, not ours.
