GTA 6 launch trailer is out: Jason, Lucia, and a score that goes wrong

Rockstar posted the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15. The Newswire copy is the story, not a shot list: Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.

The Verge timed the clip at about 90 seconds and said it does not reveal much that is new. Rockstar, via The Verge, says the footage was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5. We are not describing scenes from the video. The longest look still on this desk is the August Extended Look brief: 26 minutes of PS5 capture, not a launch-trailer recap.

Justice, and a new single

Rockstar confirmed French electronic duo Justice composed the original score. The trailer debuts their standalone single “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track is on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which Rockstar says is up for pre-save on major streaming services and for vinyl or CD pre-order at gtavi-thealbum.com. A separate official score album is still coming; Rockstar told readers to stay tuned.

Still November 19

Grand Theft Auto VI arrives November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That line has not moved. PC is still unannounced.

The Game Awards cutoff

Eurogamer notes the November 19 date puts GTA 6 inside The Game Awards 2026 eligibility window by one day. The show’s FAQ says games must be commercially available to customers on or before Friday, November 20, 2026, at 9 p.m. PT. Eligible is not nominated. The show itself is December 10.
