Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s campaign early access window opens Friday, October 16, Pacific Time. That is three days before DMZ early access and a week before the worldwide launch on October 23.

The dates

When (PT)What
Friday, October 16Campaign Early Access — full campaign
Tuesday, October 20DMZ Early Access — all of DMZ
October 23, 2026Worldwide launch

Who gets early access

Any digital edition preorder or prepurchase on a supported platform unlocks both windows. Campaign early access is the full campaign, not a slice. DMZ early access is all of DMZ, not a playlist sample. Physical editions are not in that digital-preorder bucket.

Digital preorders also mention the Hunter Killer Operator Skin for Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Activision’s editions page is the source for that line; it is a preorder extra, not a launch-day requirement.

What launches when

Activision frames the campaign around a war on the Korean Peninsula: a young squad of South Korean soldiers on the collapsing front, and Captain Price on a parallel off-book track. Multiplayer and DMZ ship with the October 23 launch, not with the October 16 campaign window.

Platforms

October 23, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Battle.net, Steam, Xbox on PC), and Nintendo Switch 2. It is not on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Xbox purchases are Xbox Play Anywhere between Series consoles and Xbox on PC.

Bottom line

If you already preordered digitally, Friday is campaign, Tuesday is DMZ, and October 23 is everything else. If you did not, the full game still lands on the 23rd. No file sizes, no review scores, no player counts — none of those have been published in a form we can check.
